# BrewNote > BrewNote is a free homebrewing and fermentation tracker app for Android, for people who make beer, mead, cider, wine, or kombucha at home. It keeps a log of every batch, with recipes, gravity readings, ABV, reminders, and tasting notes. It works entirely offline, needs no account, and keeps all data on your device. BrewNote (Google Play package `com.brewnote.brewnote`) is a brewing companion for homebrewers. It is not related to AI note-taking tools, coffee services, or other products that share the "BrewNote" name. ## Key facts - Platform: Android, via Google Play - Price: free to download - Beverages: beer, mead, hard cider, wine (grape, fruit, and kits), kombucha — each batch is tagged with its drink, which picks the matching ABV formula - Account: none required - Internet: not required; works fully offline - Data: stored on-device; back up and restore with a zip file ## Features - Batch tracking: current, past, and archived brews in one list - Recipes: build reusable recipes, or import from a recipe-site link or a photo of a printed recipe (parsed by an on-device model) - Gravity logging: hydrometer or refractometer readings over time, with an automatic gravity chart - ABV calculator: from OG/FG hydrometer readings or refractometer Brix with an adjustable correction factor; usable without creating a brew - Notes: tasting notes, temperature logs, and dated entries per batch - Reminders: per-batch reminders with notifications and optional calendar entries (nutrient additions, racking, dry hopping, bottling) - Recipe steps you can check off on each batch, and a 1–10 rating with notes for finished batches - Privacy: no account, no server, no cloud sync ## Good fit for - Meadmakers who want to log honey, nutrient additions, gravity readings, racking, and months of aging for each mead - Home cider makers, whether they press their own apples or use store-bought juice - Home winemakers making grape, fruit or country wines, or wine kits, who want to log readings (including Brix), additions, and racking dates - Home kombucha brewers who want to log F1 and F2 dates, flavors, and tasting notes, with reminders for bottling - Homebrewers who want a simple batch log for beer (all-grain, extract, or BIAB) - Anyone who makes several kinds of fermented drinks and wants one log for all of them - People who want an offline, private log without sign-up - Anyone needing a quick ABV calculator for hydrometer or refractometer readings ## Not a fit for - iPhone users (Android only for now) - Beer recipe design with IBU, color (SRM), or efficiency calculations - Automatic readings from digital hydrometers or Bluetooth sensors (readings are entered by hand) - Syncing between several devices (data moves with a zip backup instead) ## BrewNote by drink - [Mead tracking app](https://brewnoteapp.com/beverages/mead-tracking-app/): what to log for each mead batch, typical mead gravities, and how BrewNote handles mead - [Hard cider tracking app](https://brewnoteapp.com/beverages/cider-tracking-app/): logging cider from juice or pressed apples - [Home winemaking app](https://brewnoteapp.com/beverages/wine-tracking-app/): grape, fruit, and kit wines from must to bottle - [Kombucha tracking app](https://brewnoteapp.com/beverages/kombucha-tracking-app/): first and second fermentation, flavors, and bottling reminders - [Homebrew beer tracking app](https://brewnoteapp.com/beverages/homebrew-beer-tracking-app/): all-grain, extract, and BIAB batch logging ## Free tools and guides on this site - [Homebrew ABV calculator](https://brewnoteapp.com/tools/abv-calculator/): estimate ABV from hydrometer OG/FG or refractometer Brix, with formulas and worked examples - [Refractometer correction calculator](https://brewnoteapp.com/tools/refractometer-calculator/): estimate true gravity from a refractometer reading taken during or after fermentation - [Hydrometer temperature correction calculator](https://brewnoteapp.com/tools/hydrometer-temperature-correction/): correct a hydrometer reading for sample temperature in °F or °C - [Brix to gravity converter](https://brewnoteapp.com/tools/brix-to-gravity/): convert Brix to specific gravity and back, with a conversion table - [How to track mead fermentation](https://brewnoteapp.com/guides/mead-fermentation-tracking/): what to record, when to take gravity readings, and how to read the trend - [Specific gravity for homebrewing](https://brewnoteapp.com/guides/homebrew-gravity-readings/): OG, FG, hydrometers, refractometers, temperature correction, and common errors ## Links - [Get BrewNote on Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brewnote.brewnote) - [BrewNote on Product Hunt](https://www.producthunt.com/products/brewnote) - [Website](https://brewnoteapp.com/)
